The ZOO!

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Houston Zoo for the day...it was a lot of fun but it was so HOT and HUMID!

Random monkey that Ella enjoyed...actually she loved EVERYTHING we saw...each time we left one cage to go on to the next she would start to cry because she didn't want to leave and we would have to explain to her that we were going to see something else...she didn't really get it until we got to the next animal and she would be happy all over again. Such a silly girl!

There was this little water park for kids there which Ella ended up loving but at first she was a little apprehensive and I had to pull her into the water.

After she started to get wet she really enjoyed it, probably cause it was nice to get cooled off from that sun and humidity.

When we went to leave she was not a happy camper but...

we got her excited all over again when she got to go to the petting zoo...

At first she liked going up to each goat and petting it...

but after a little while i think she got a little freaked out by the goats and when we were trying to get her to pet one, she started to act as if it wasn't even there and would run off to do something else like try to pick up goat poo.

Next we took her to the kiddie park that was there and she had a blast.

The slide was great but a little tight for Daddy!

Ella singing while we played the little piano.

She just got a kick out of this little piano and was entertained for quite a long time.

By the end of our trip we were feeling much like this giraffe...EXHAUSTED! ( This poor giraffe seemed so depressed there...he kept laying his head on this stump as if he had no hope...ok maybe i'm a little dramatic but seriously why would he be doing that except for the reason of being totally depressed with his confined Zoo life? :)

Our Little fishy!

Ella loves to go swimming here at the pool at our apartment complex in Houston.

As you can see there is one side of the pool that is sort of a beach style architecture which Ella loves because she gets to be independent and walk around in the water.

Ella and her buddy!

Pulling hair is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do...

So happy to be out of the house!

Little Miss Mischief!

This is a random picture but it was too darn cute not to post! For once she was sitting still and just snuggling...only because she was tired, oh well we'll take it where we can get it!

Ella wanted to bring her bunny to bed with her and so I let her and as you can tell she likes to be right there cuddled up with it!

Memorial Day Weekend!

This past weekend our friends Maria and Allister Sewell and their 2 boys came down from selling in Dallas to see us! We had some really great times hanging out, going to the beach and the boardwalk!

Mason Sewell is only a month older than Ella and they had a lot of fun playing together! We put these baby sunglasses on them and both of them were trying to rip them off right away...so we had to hold their hands down to take this picture!

Ella did think it was pretty cool at first but after a minute she was ready to pull them off!

She did look really cute in those little sunglasses though.

Later that day we went to the beach in Galveston and had a blast.

Ella absolutely loved it there! The water was so warm and it was a pretty nice day just a bit windy!

Ella decided she was in charge and wanted to be very adventurous and curious while we were there. She did NOT want me to pick her up or hold her hand to walk her around as you can tell from the picture!

Ella was on a mission running around investigating everything!

She tripped and plopped down in the wet sand and then she was in heaven.

She loved sloppin around in the muddiness.

Having a great old time until...

she scooped up a mouthful of sand and seawater!

She was not too keen on the taste!

After awhile she got over the bad taste and started having fun again!

She thought it was awesome when the water would come up on her legs!

Daddy was trying to keep her from running away...

but as you can see, she was always on the run!

Then as she was trying to get away from us a wave came up and made her a bit unsteady... and this was the moment right before she was swept off her feet!

Though it startled her and me at first, i grabbed her quick and she was refreshed with the quick saltwater bath that she got! She was covered in so much sand and it was so fine that it just stuck to her! The worst part was that her ears were just filled with sand!

This was Ella's face of, "Mom stop trying to take pictures with me I gotta play!"

As soon as we took her onesie off she was all about trying to take her diaper off.

Then she made a friend as she watched this little girl dig a big hole in the sand.

Having fun in the sun.

This is Maria and her son Mason Sewell.

Snuggling Ella up and getting her dried off.

Ella and Daddy.

Ok so it's caught on camera...Ella snuggling! Those of you who know her know that she isn't the most cuddly baby but every once in awhile she'll give us a little snuggle!

The next day we went to Kemah, where there's a boardwalk with some carnival type rides.

Ella loved the merri-go-round !

Chad did too! :)

Here's the Sewell family...(not the best pic to show all of them but it was the only one we had with all of them in it!)

Then we went up to the restaurant there but it was closed. Ella loved this huge stuffed bear there though but she didn't want to get too close to it...

Chad would try to put her closer so that she could touch it but she would back her body as far away as she could! She wanted to be close but not too close!

Our weekend was a lot of fun! We miss you Sewells!
