My Grandpa Lamb's funeral

A couple of weeks ago Ella and I went down to Vegas for my Grandpa Lamb's funeral. It was good to see all of my family that I hadn't seen since my wedding almost 2 and 1/2 years ago. Even though it was a sad time we were all relieved that my grandpa was no longer in pain. He had been sick for awhile and so it helped to know that he had gone to a much better place. The funeral was beautiful and the things everyone said to commemorate my grandpa were wonderful. I was thankful that I was able to go down for it and that I was able to talk to my grandpa on the phone one last time before he passed away. I am just so thankful to have the knowledge I do about life after death and the plan of salvation...i truly think that life would be so depressing if all I knew was "until death do us part". We miss you and love you Grandpa.

I couldn't find a better picture of my grandpa but I wanted to put one up of him...so here's one with him in it at our wedding. (He's right above Chad's mom on the right hand side) He's so cute in his sunglasses!

My brother Tyler and my Grandma Lamb.

Aww precious.... :)

A bunch of the Lamb cousins at the luncheon after the funeral.

All the kids my Grandpa Lamb had except Uncle Shane (he had already left.)
My Uncle Russell, my Dad, Uncle Randy and Uncle Kevin.

Me, my sister mallorie and my momma!

While I was down in Henderson I also visited my Grandma Lucille.
There was this dog at her house that Ella just LOVED. She pretty much loves all animals but dogs are her favorite.

My youngest brother Cody's birthday was on the 28th of March so we had a little party for him while we were in Henderson. My mom had made some cupcakes and I was standing by them talking to my someone while holding Ella facing out and I turned to look at her and realized she was able to reach the cupcakes and she had dug her hand in one and shoved it in her mouth as fast as possible! It was so funny!

Boy did she love that cupcake!

Me and my brother Tyler. He's 21 and he's pretty funny...we have some good times together.

Aww, my parents, I just want to send out a little shout out for them, they are just so amazing and have been such great examples to me, I am just really thankful for them... love you mom and dad!

Ella's daily routine.

So Ella has a daily chore that she feels she must accomplish before doing anything else...

First she must pull out everything in the entertainment center...

Then she must take the phone off the hook... (look at those eyes, caught in the act!)

Then she has to pull all of the paper out of the printer (which daddy accidentally forgets to take the paper out of)...

The funny thing is even if i clean it all up she feels like she must pull it all back out...she does her duty very well that's for sure...gotta love our little mess-maker!

Happy Easter!

Ok i know i'm a little late but as usual i'm behind on my posting! These were taken on Easter Sunday.

Playing with her Easter balloon.

We were really excited about easter!

Our little Henkel Family.

The rest of these pictures are just random but i thought they were cute.

We just got gates for our stairs a few weeks ago and Ella loves to stand by them and shake them.

Chad and I were playing Phase 10 and Ella was his teammate. You'd be surprised at her quick draw skill.

This is Ella and her FAVORITE teddy bear, she snuggles with it when she sleeps. I caught her hugging it one day while she was playing in her jumparoo, it was so cute!

Chad decided to put Ella in a Cheez-it box...Don't ask me why. The thing I love about this picture though is her hair...i had put her hair in pig tails the day before and this was how it looked when she woke up.

Whenever i take out the camera Ella likes to try to touch it, so she scurries over as fast as she can to attack. This was her right before she grabbed it.

HER BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKIN'!

About 2 or more weeks ago Ella started walking on her own! We started just having her walk back and forth between Chad and I and she just loved this game! I truly wonder if we would have tried it earlier on if she would have started walking earlier, it seems like all she needed was a little encouragement! It's crazy how much she has progressed even from when we took this video two weeks ago. Now she pulls herself up to standing on her own without holding onto anything and she is just walking everywhere, hardly crawling at all anymore! It's amazing how fast babies develop and learn. We're proud of our little walker!

New Hair and My B-day!

So you may remember me looking like this about 2 weeks ago....

that's all changed now, ... NOW it's all about this!

I chopped about 12 or so inches off! It was time for a change, It has been long for about 7 yrs so i was feeling like it was time for a change!

Side view...

So Sunday the 9th was my 24th birthday and Chad made it so much fun for me! He wrote me this little poem about a scavenger hunt for easter eggs that were filled with my favorite candy and sweet little notes.

24! I am really gettin up there now, almost a quarter of a century!

This one of the cards Chad made me with Jack Bauer from 24 on it. At first I didn't get why he choose to use Jack Bauer on my card and then I realized oh yea I'm 24 now! I was a little slow :)
He's clever though huh?

Here are some of the eggs and notes he had hidden around the house.

We had a really great dinner and then Chadder invited a bunch of our friends to our house for cake and ice cream and games. It was such a blast!

Hilary and Mike Ramsey

Natalie and Adam Kelly

Good ol' Hayley Redder!

And of course our family Jason and Didi, i guess they were in a little bit of a quarrel when we took this pic! Heehee

My yummy cake...Chad improvised on the candles and used some tea light candles we had!

It was awesome I loved the whole day!

I love my family they are such great blessings to me and they made my birthday very special.

The Cruise!

Hello friends and family...here's a little update about what's been going on lately with our little Henkel family! SO a couple weeks ago Chad and I went on a cruise that Chad earned over the summer from the sales job he had to the Mexican Riviera (Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas).
We ended up leaving Ella with our good friends Hayley and Kam Redder. Both of our families weren't really able to watch her and due to the fact that Ella knows and likes Hayley so much we felt really good about it. We were a little nervous at first (mostly me being a worried mama) and I actually had second thoughts as Chad and I were driving down to SLC to the airport but as we talked to Hayley and found out that she was doing so well it made her absence a little easier on us.
It was so much fun to have time alone with Chad and it was a really nice break from the poopy snow that frankly I am quite sick of. Thankfully it has melted a bit but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed! Plus we had a lot of fun getting to know some of the other couples that work for Preventive Pest Control, the company Chad has been working for over the last couple of summers. Not to mention we got to see some really beautiful places and have food on demand all the time! Boy was it was rough! :)

Here's a break down of our experience!

On the plane getting really excited to go on the cruise! (Chadder suave'!)

Our friends Kelsey and Jason Crowder picked us up from the airport in L.A. took us to lunch and then to the docks.

At lunch at the Mexican restaurant the Crowder's took us to before getting on the boat.

The Crowder's baby Kamryn loving the lemons at lunch!

There she blows!

The first two days were days where we were just traveling to the first port (Puerto Vallarta) so we spent our time doing lots of fun activities they have going on on the boat. The sad thing is I don't have pictures of some of the things we did. Others got pictures though so someday we'll have them.

This was our room it was pretty tiny but it really wasn't as small as what I thought it was going to be . Our room attendant folded our towels into an elephant and then put my glasses and chad's hat on it. Quite talented eh?

This was off the back of the boat when it was all misty outside. It was cool.

Chadder rackin up the points in a mad ping-pong game with Tyson Kearns.

Sweet air paddle guitar!

Hanging out outside on one of the decks.

A shot off one of the upper decks.

Our friends Maria and Allister Sewell.

Eating breakfast together with our PPC friends!

The first day about to leave on our first excursion.

Here's the boat we took to a a secluded area where we went snorkeling and then to a little jungle town called Yalapa.

This little island we passed on the way to snorkeling.

Cool hole in the rock.

The PPC boys.

The wives of the PPC boys except hardcore Barbara, one of the P.P.C. managers.

The town of Yalapa.

This little crappy restaurant we ate at where mangy stray dogs are roaming and the salsa only consists of tomatoes raw onions and jalapeños- no saucy-ness whatsoever.

When we were at the restaurant one of the vendors that walk around the beach trying to sell their handiwork came up to us and tried to sell Chad a pipe. Also while we were in Yalapa one of the guys in our group asked to buy coccaine as well. They sell pretty much anything you need really. Ha :)

The beautiful beach in Yalapa.

The next day we went to Mazatlan which for me was my favorite place just because we were able to do a lot there.

On the boat in the morning before we got to go to Mazatlan.

Chad thought he was a pretty high roller after he got some cash for us to use that day in Mazatlan.

The city of Mazatlan from off the boat.

The first part of the day we went around to some of the little shops. This was in front of one called Senor Frogs which was 10 times nicer than the rest and supposedly they kinda compare this place to a Planet Hollywood in America.

Then we went and hung out on the beach where Chad and I went para sailing and jet skiing! It was so much fun!

Here's Chad about ready to go up!

On his way back down.

A dead Puffer fish washed up on the beach!

Gettin pumped to fly!

Jet Skiing.

That night was Valentine's...

On Valentine's night they had a "formal" night where you're supposed to dress up and you should have seen some of the people there all decked out... we didn't realize how shnazzy people got for it. Anyway, that night they had a really nice dinner and then we went to this dancing/singing show called Caliente which was pretty goofy to say the least but it was a fun experience though.

Another night activity they had on the cruise was this contest called Princess popstar their attempt at "American Idol" and Chad was asked to hold a sign for one of the guys who was in it. And this was the hat he designed out of the poster. It was quite the hit!

The next day we went to Cabo San Lucas...

We got to the port really early in the morning and were able to get off at 6am due to the fact that we were only able to stay their until 1pm so as you can see it was pretty dark when we got there.

Me and the Chadder on the little boat we had to take to get to Cabo because the port was too shallow for the cruise ship to come into.

You can see our cruise ship in the distance as we get closer to Cabo.

Cabo was so gorgeous!

Me and Maria Sewell on the beach.

These were taken on this small secluded beach called Lover's beach.

Cool little cave.

Chad and some of the other guys went snorkeling there and saw tons of cool fish.

Chad's snorkeling battle wounds!

Look at that wave!

This poor pelican had a hook stuck in its leg so it wasn't able to move much anymore.

After the beach we went to this restaurant in Cabo where we got some really good virgin Pina Coladas....even though they tried to slip in a couple that weren't virgin we ended up getting it all straight by the end.
That was a funny thing about the whole cruise how everyone was constantly offering us alcohol and they always seemed completely baffled/annoyed that we weren't drinking.

All the PPC guys got henna tattoos that P.P.C. paid for... funny yet a little dorky? :) Good way to publicize about the company huh?

This was this little boy that was playing the drums in a little band on the side of the road for tips. He was amazingly good.

After Cabo the last two days were spent on the boat traveling back to L.A.

The boys nerding out at the airport waiting to go back home.

We had a lot of fun on the cruise but we were ready to go home and see our baby again!

And we couldn't leave out Ella....
here's what she was up to while we were gone!

Taking baths with boys....

Eating candy....

Stealing Jake's candy from him...

And just purely ticking Jake off! Oh Ella, what a little stinker!
