My life in rewind...

For all those who have wondered what happened to the Henkels, well I am not sure how it all started but gradually I just stopped doing most things on the internet (ie. facebook, my email etc. ) and as you can see the blog fell way behind and then I just felt overwhelmed at how much I had to catch up on and well I guess I took a haitus! Anywho I am going to try to relive some of the things we have done over the past months. I am just going to start at the most recent and work backwards, so do not be alarmed if you see summer pictures in a few weeks, i truly have that far to go back to! I decided I would someday like to print off my blog to have as a sort of memory book of my kids and I realized I really need to get a move on if I am going to make that work! SO here's to giving it another try! Ha ha!

My little buddies today, they were actually being nice to each other for about a whole minute! :)

Plus I felt like I needed to document Ella's hair that I cut and straightened cause she just looked so different!

Our Halloween festivities ended up being a 3 night affair. The first night we went to this thing called, "Boo at the Zoo" where businesses had boothes and handed out candy and they had a whole bunch of lights put up around the zoo with some crafts and games the kids could do. It was pretty fun but there was a lot of people there which made it a little bit of a process to do anything. The kids loved it though.

The next night we had our Halloween shoot! Ella had a blast dressing up as Belle and hopes to be able to wear her Belle costume for the rest of her life. Jack on the other hand was completely against putting on that Tigger costume until we bribed him that he would get candy...then he was appeased for awhile, no matter what he hated the hood part though! :)

As you can see he is trying to start pulling off the hood the second after I put it on him.

The little princess on cloud nine, getting to put make-up on and be all beautified!

The angry little T-i-double ga-er!

Pretty much they are always saying cheese in every picture, which makes for funny faces in pictures, why do they tell you to do that?

We then went to a carnival at the elementary school where Ella met up with her friend Etienne and couldn't help having a blast being all girly and dressed up together!

Eating away as usual.

The fun little carriage ride we got to go on, the kids LOVED it.

This was pretty much the face I got from both my kids the whole night( mom open this plllleeeeasse!)... how can one just stop at one candy?

My sister Mallorie also joined us on this blessed occasion. It was great to have her along!

Then on Saturday night we went to my sister & bro in law's ward's trunk or treat/dinner and then ventured on to go trick or treating. I didn't end up taking any pics of this but my kids thoroughly enjoyed every night of the festivities because they got to dress up (Ella's fav.) and they got candy (both their favs.) It was good times and we have a whole bucket full of candy to show for it and it has been my worst enemy ever since we brought it home! :) Happy Halloween!

You are my sunshine...

These pictures were taken back at Mother's Day but they were too cute not to post. These kids truly are my sunshine. They brighten my life every day with their sweet spirits and positive outlook on life. At times I feel like I get to glimpse a little bit of heaven when I am with these two. I am truly grateful to have been blessed to be able to bear children, even though there are times that are rough as a mother I wouldn't trade this experience with them for anything. The trying times become all worth while when I think of the amazing joys I get to experience with them. I love you Ella and Jack always and forever.

My sleeping beauties

So this was back in May....I know I know I'm playin catch up as usual...We went to visit my fam and everyone was pooped after church...I woke up from my nap and this is what I found!

So cute and quite surprising because Jack isn't one to fall asleep in our arms but obviously he was tuckered out and of course he was comfy on his buddy Uncle Ty.

Then I went around the corner and found another pair of snoozers. Not quite sure how this came about but it was just too cute! I'm not sure how comfy poor Uncle Cody was but Ella was sure out!

Kids are just adorable when they are asleep, maybe it's just cause they are finally sitting still :) If only the stillness would last instead of just recharging their batteries! ha ha Gotta love 'em!

Henkel's Hell's Angels

A few weeks ago we went to visit our Henkel family in Kemmerer WY and started our very own biker gang! Pretty much our kids are ready for their very own skull doo-rags and leather jackets!

Vvvroom-vroom!

Look closely at this picture, see if you can spot Where's Waldo a.k.a Jack-Jack! :)

Can she be any happier? Not quite sure how much fun Jack was having though being squished between Chad and El, plus he was facing Chad so I'm not even sure he quite knew what was going on! Ha ha :) I think he was pretty well cushioned in case of any accidents though!

After a long ride on the road who wouldn't want to snuggle?

Not for too long though, still lots to get into!

Like father, like son...

Papa Henkel and J.

Grandma Henkel and El.

Good times, good food and good family...pure Awesomeness!

Gotta love her!

So it all started when I couldn't find my friend's library book that was due that day...I was
feeling really bad first of all for losing her library book and second of all I really didn't want to have to pay a fine, or worst case scenario pay for the whole book. I had been racking my brain and ripping my house apart to find it and I was getting nothin'. So I decided it was time to say a prayer. About 5 mins after my prayer I remembered the really random place I had stored it a week ago. So I was pretty excited, Ella was in the room and I looked at her and said, " Wow that was so awesome, Heavenly Father is awesome, he blessed me to find my lost book Ella." Then I tried to take the moment to have a little "teaching" experience with her. I went on to explain to her about the power of prayer. She looked at me with eyes of pure excitement and said, "Heavenly Father needs a sticker!" He did a really good job finding your book!" I thought that H.F. prob got a kick outta that one too! :)

Kids say the darndest things and other updates...

Here's some stuff the little ones have been spouting off lately...

Me at church today: "Ella did you know that the sacrament helps us remember when Jesus died for us? The bread helps us remember his body and the water helps us remember his blood." Ella eyes really wide, "His BLOOD? It tastes funny." Me: "No, no the water isn't really his blood it just helps us remember His blood." Not sure she was quite ready for that concept haha!

I also told her about how Jesus died but then he came back to life and was resurrected so that we could do the same some day and she responded, " Like Nemo?" Remember he died for a second and then he's gonna come back to life?" (Nemo is her pet fish that died about a week ago and now everything that is dead is like Nemo. The sad thing is I think she thinks he'll only be dead for awhile and then come back to life soon. She wants that resurrecting thing to happen here real quick! :)

Today Ella saw a little kid get up and bear his testimony and she was like, " I wanna do that!" I asked her, "do you know what to say when you go up there?"she goes, " I like to bear my testimony..." and I said yea that's good and then you tell about the things that you are grateful for, she said, " Yea like my mommy and my daddy and my Jackie," I said, those are good and you can talk about how you know that the church is true. And she says, "Yea but it's not fair." I just laughed I don't know where she got that one! So anyways she kept asking us to go up to the pulpit to bear her testimony but I was feeling too shy to get up today and so Chad finally gave into her. And lo and behold she froze, he puts her up there and right away she turns around to him and says, "But what do I say?" Then Chad was telling her stuff but she got too nervous to talk! I felt bad for Chad but he'll be blessed for bearing his own testimony and I think it was a good experience for Ella to have so that she knows what to do the next time she goes up! :) I was pretty proud of her though for having the gumption to want to go up in the first place I think that part is a challenge in itself!

She is such a smart/loving/helpful little girl. She is always asking me whats next on the list for us to do mom? She is always excited to help me unload the dishwasher-hope she keeps that up for many years! :) When you tell her something like, "Do you want to go color?" She will respond with the most enthusiasm I have ever seen a child muster, "That's a great idea mom!" She actually says that to me quite often and man is it boosting my self esteem ! :)

Jack is a real jabberer these days, he can say a bunch of words now like, "da" (dog-he pants and everything), "daint-tu" (thank you), "Ay-ya" (Ella), "teef" (teeth for when he wants to brush his teeth), "bay-bee" ( Baby), "Ap-pul"-(Apple) "Cheeesth" (Cheese), "Pees" (Please), and of course he can say the usual, Mama, Dada, Papa, Nana, his favorite friend Ty and I'm sure there's others but that is all I can think of at the moment! :) The words he probably uses most often though are "yea" and "Noooo" he has such a cute deep sort of raspy voice that it's just fun to hear him say pretty much anything.

He is such a cuddle bug slash super friendly guy. He loves giving out his big hugs and resting his head on your shoulder all of which I love, Ella never did that! But she has changed to be more cuddly as she has gotten older but Jack has been cuddly since day one. When Ella does something mean to him and I tell her that she needs to go give him a hug and say sorry to him he will be the first to run over to her and give her the biggest hug that almost knocks her over! Ah yes that is pretty easy for him because they way almost the same amount, she's weighs 30lbs and the last time I checked he was like 28.5lbs so as you can imagine he is a hefty little guy. I actually strained my back this last week picking him up...which he has done to my mom as well! He's just so compact and dense but it's so hard not to want to pick him up even when you're in pain! Another thing about Jack is his fondness for pinching the skin right on the triceps area of my arm when I am holding him, not sure why, maybe he's giving me a hint that I need to start working on my "Relief Society arms" or maybe it's just that the skin is really soft there,( I like that theory better). :)

On another note, I made a dress for Ella with my friend Tanelle who pretty much guided me through the whole thing! She is awesome! It turned out pretty cute but its a little snug on her cause I didn't quite get the original measurements right but, I am planning on making another one, now that I know what I'm doing I should whip right through it! (If you know me though that is probably impossible, due to the fact that I am a perfectionist with that kind of stuff...ha ha ) I'll post a pic of it as soon as I take one.

Anywho now that I whet my appetite with this sewing stuff I am really eager to try more things! Our next project is a wallet, I'll let you know how that goes...I'm a little nervous, it seems a bit more tricky but at least I will have Tanelle to help get me through it! :)

Ok I'm going to bed now...too many late nights in a row, does no good for a Mommy on the go! Ha ha I'm a poet and I don't even know it. Gosh I'm good. (more like corny:) )
